There is legal Aid funding available for work in this category Under the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012, changes to the eligibility criteria for Legal Aid also called public funding changed from April 2013.
Legal Aid for Disrepair Claims
Your disrepair claim may also be covered by legal aid if you can show that the disrepair to your property is health hazard within specified categories.
Our housing solicitors will be able to advise you on how to prove that this is the case.
Tenants may also be eligible for Legal Aid if.
- The tenant is applying to the court to order the landlord to carry out repairs
- The tenant is defending court action brought by a landlord for eviction because of rent arrears

Privately funded client are charged at either agreed/fixed fee and or hourly rated basis depending on the grade/qualification of the Solicitors dealing with the matter. All fees are subjected to VAT at the prevailing rate of 20%.
We will charge you £300.00 for each hour spent on your matter by [Gafar Gbadamosi or equivalent person responsible for the case].
Where others are required to assist with your matter, we will charge you the following hourly rates for their work:

All routine correspondence which we write will be charged at 1/10th of the hourly rate, while routine correspondence we receive will be charged at 1/20th of the hourly rate.
All routine telephone calls, either made or received, will be charged at 1/10th of the hourly rate.
More complicated correspondence and telephone calls will be charged at the hourly rate for the actual time they take.
Disbursement Charges
Additional charges may be payable for Disbursement. This are charged at the rate the Landlord/service provider prescribed fee chargeable. This amount payable depends on the category of relevant work being made on your behalf including the Disrepair claim for example expert report charges. There may be separate charges payable if you are defending a claim, court/Trial fees. Please enquire within.
Other expenses
There may also be other expenses which we need to pay on your behalf. These can include:

- fees for expert reports.
- barristers’ fees.
These will be listed separately on your bill, and you may be charged VAT in relation to these expenses too.
